“HOTT staff are kind of like my family” – Colin
Colin moved to Toronto to be near his mother as she battled lung cancer. After her passing Colin fell on hard times, feeling hopeless and depressed. During this time Colin begun to struggle with alcoholism which eventually led him to homelessness. While living in shelters, Colin heard about HOTT and made the decision to apply.
He was a resident in three different HOTT properties over twenty years, moving from shared housing to his own unit. Colin was also a Board Member and served on several different governance committees. Colin always told our team that he was grateful for the support that HOTT offered him and for role the organization played in his progress over the years.
Colin passed away in 2021. He remains an honoured member of our HOTT community and lives on in the memories of our staff, Board, and residents. May he Rest in Peace.
